Jakarta, 25 December 2019 — If you celebrate Chrismas, make it last much longer.

The Message

It came in a Christmas message today, from a director I coached a few years ago.

Here is what I learned from it: that the essence of our end-of-year reflections is about celebrating new hope, new efforts, and new success to come.

The message resonated with me.

Although raised in the Christian faith when I was a boy, I confess that I have never, not even then, been a big fan of Christmas. Not that I disagreed with its meaning—quite the contrary, in fact.

However, I’ve always felt uneasy with the practice of limiting the message—and the expected behaviors that came with it—to one or two days in December.

Moreover, it didn’t escape me that by focusing on the custom of people coming together to celebrate, Christmas could also achieve the opposite by triggering an unnecessary sense of loneliness in people without loved ones at hand.

Back to this year and today’s experience.

The Inspiration

While Christmas might easily inspire you with a message of New Hope, why not make it more special this year by turning this inspiration into a habit for every new morning from today onward?

What habit, you say?

Simply to unpack your leadership as a gift for New Hope and get to the action with new efforts, so that new success can come your way, and through you, to your loved ones and the people around you at work.

Like it was implied in the Christmas message.

The Habit

Starting the habit today can make this year’s Christmas truly memorable and blessed for you and the people around you, not just during these days of December, but all year round!

Think of it, if you like, as a candle of Light and celebration you will light every day.
